Well, if you're here then you know that I have finally finished fixing up a small sailboat of mine, and the reason you are here is to most likely check out some pictures I took of my little "masterpiece" . Well, they're down below, and technically the boat's not totally finished either. I have one more piece to make for it before it is fully finished, but this piece is not that critical so that's why I haven't done it yet. It's the coaming piece that I have to make and it goes on the raised V-section right behind the mast and in front of the passenger compartment. In the last picture you can see I put the old black rubber piece on, but since it doesn't quite go with the new door that I made out of Teak (replaced a plain black plastic thing), I've decided to make a new coaming out of Teak as well. But enough talk and on to the pictures!

Well, that's her. I think the paint job took me probably about a month-and-a-half to finish. Course I'm no expert with an airbrush so the work is not that high-quality (although you can't tell from a distance). I will say though that it really flies across the water given a decent wind. When I first took it out after I finished all the work on it (a couple days before I posted this) the wind was perfect. There was a couple times where I was dead in the water because there was no wind what-so-ever, but there were a lot of times where the only thing beneath me from the waist-up was air and water. For those that don't know (and there will be a couple), the wind will want to push this boat on it's side. In order to counteract this, you have to shift your weight to keep the boat as flat on the water as possible and most of the time this means leaning out and using the force of the wind to hold you in that position. There was one time where I was leaning out so far that my hair was dragging in the water (it's about mid-back in length). God that was fun.

So, anyone want to go sailing? ;)
